Grimentz and Zinal villages

WELCOME TO OUR TWO SIDES OF THE VALLEY

To make your stay as pleasant as possible, here's some practical information and useful links for eating, drinking and finding accommodation on both sides of the Grimentz / Zinal ski area.

TRANSPORT

How do I get to Anniviers? To reach our two villages, take the train to Sierre, then take the post bus to Vissoie, which will take you to the village of your choice, or use the Taxi Anniviers service.

If you have your own vehicle, take the Sierre Ouest freeway exit and head for Vissoie. Once in the village, you can choose between Zinal and Grimentz.

INFORMATIONS AND SERVICES

If you'd like to find out all you need to know about the valley, don't hesitate to consult the offiiciel website, which will provide you with real-time information on emergency numbers, defibrillator locations, the drinking water network and quality, parking areas in Anniviers, electric vehicle terminal locations and, as we live close to a dam, the water alarm plan.

ANIMATIONS

What's on in Anniviers this summer? In addition to all the BIKE courses we offer and the children's camps, if you'd like to find out more about all the events taking place during your stay, the official Val d'Annviers website gives you an overview and allows you to book your places.

To find out why we're REALLY LUCKY WITH TIME, and reach the summits by air?

Shoot, I'm out of milk, where can I buy some? ... ouch, I need a balm to relax my muscles, is there a pharmacy .... ? here's a list of all the services in Val d'Annviers.

WELCOME TO GRIMENTZ

Considered one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland, Grimentz is a tourist village that has managed to preserve its heritage and authenticity.

Throughout the summer, you'll be able to take in the old village and its narrow streets, and admire the magnificent thousand-year-old larch-wood houses, whose sun-blackened, weathered facades contrast with the bright, shimmering colors of the windowsills, delicately decorated with geraniums, an emblematic floral tradition that the village's inhabitants have kept alive since the 1930s.

And for a deeper immersion in the village's history, here are a few visits that will delight lovers of traditional culture, such as: the bourgeois cellar and its glacier wine, grandma's house or the old mill to take you back several years in the past.

Grimentz is also a popular destination for mountain bikers, including the world-famous marathon race from Verbier to Grimentz over the Col de Pouce. And to find out more about the GRAND RAID, here's the link to the 2024 edition.

For several years now, the FestiVal d'Annviers has also delighted the hearts of classical music lovers, so if you'd like to enjoy a concert between July 30 and August 4, find out more here.

Eating and drinking?

The village of Grimentz boasts a number of restaurants, all with their own particularities and specialities to satisfy both small and large appetites.

WELCOME TO ZINAL

The village of Zinal nestles at the foot of the Imperial Crown, one of the highest mountain ranges in the Alps, and remains the place to be for aficionados of raw mountain experiences.

A veritable paradise for sportsmen and women in sneakers or walking shoes, the village hosts a number of sporting events each year, including the legendary Sierre-Zinal race, also known as the Race of the Five 4000 in view of the vertical drops absorbed by the runners. To find out more, click here, or the Trail du Besso, a race reserved for the mountaineering elite.

For mountaineering enthusiasts, there are 4 mountain huts on the Zinal side of the valley, and no less than 300 km of hiking trails and 150 km of marked trails for mountain bikers.

And for total immersion in the history of this village, a detour to the La Lée copper mine at 1920 m altitude, whose galleries extend 500 m into the mountain, will plunge you into the mining industry of the early 20th century.
