Moiry Barrage
WELCOME TO THE VAL DE MOIRY
The Moiry dam and its surroundings are only accessible in summer, when weather conditions allow the road to be opened.
However, once the snow has melted and the weather is fine, it's possible to get there by bike or on foot via the road linking the village of Grimentz to the dam. As this road is very busy throughout the summer season, we recommend that you take the postal bus to get there, so that you can pedal with greater peace of mind as soon as you arrive.
And once you've reached the summit at 2500 metres, you'll find
The arrival point of the Via Ferrata, the dam restaurant, and you'll discover the Val de Moiry with its breathtaking views of the lake, its wild scenery and, further upstream, its glistening glacier, the starting point of several hikes for well-trained sportsmen and women.
Moiry via ferrata
Can be used from mid-June to the end of October, depending on weather conditions.
Access by private vehicle depends on the closure of the road to the Moiry dam.
Outside these periods, access is possible on foot, approximately 1h30 walk from the village of Grimentz.

The hut of Moiry / CAS
The hut is open for the summer season from June 15 to September 16, 2024.
The hut offers a choice of comfortable accommodation, with classic dormitories for 6 to 13 people, or 7 to 15 with additional mattresses, equipped with comfortable Nordic comforters, and mini dormitories for four in the new building.
To get there, cross the dam and take the road running along the eastern side of Lac de Moiry.
The route is then indicated with the walking time. (There's a large parking lot at the end of the road).
